If you are a Marvel fan then you’ve most definitely watched Moon Knight and if you haven’t then don’t worry we are very sure that by the end of this article, you will stream it without any delay and its interesting storyline won’t let you atop after just one episode.

Prior to spilling some beans about the second season of the Moon Knight let’s hark back to its first season.

Moon Knight is centered around the life of Steven Grant who works at a gift shop and his alter Marc Spector. Steven Grant suffers from DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) and he is drawn to a death-dealing mystery that involves Egyptian gods with his alter, Marc Spector.

Though Moon Knight is considered a hit among the audience and was widely applauded for its spot-on direction, cinematography, splendid performances, and intriguing plot, there is a teeny tiny section of the audience and critics that held a different viewpoint. But this miniseries stands out because of one main perk that  is you don’t need to watch other projects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to understand this one.

Moon Knight Season 2 Release Date

Towards the end of the movie, Marc confirms that there is a third personality that he is yet to discover which got the audience to believe that, definitely there is a second season that awaits them.

Much to their dismay, even after a year, we don’t have any official confirmation that there will be a Season 2 for this Disney+ Miniseries that caused a stir ever since its release. But Oscar Isaac’s interview with ComicBook gave us a ray of hope that some talks are going on among the makers for a potential second season.

    He said,

“There have been some specific conversations. They were pleasant and positive. The spilling of the details is that there are no details. We don’t know if there will be a second season, but we’re talking about it.”

    He continued,

“Truthfully, it’s about the story. Is there a story worth telling? Is it interesting? Will I feel embarrassed about it when it comes out? So it is just about, is there something worth pouring everything you have into?”

Furthering about the same, he said,

“And with Moon Knight, that was very much about that. It is creating a structure so that every morning when the alarm went off, I could not wait to get to the set because I wanted to try something different.”

Keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that these talks emanate into some concrete actions and we get a season 2 super soon!!

If There’s a Moon Knight Season 2… What Shall You Expect from It?

As we all are aware of the rapidness of netizens in giving birth to theories about anything and everything and Moon Knight wasn’t left out of it.

Some theorists claim that Kang the Conquerer will be the main antagonist in the second season of Moon Knight. They seem to base their belief on the following points:

    • The famous QR code that’s in the third episode of the first season. If you scan the QR code, it leads to the digital copy of the Annual Volume 2 of the Moon Knight comic. Interestingly, in it, Marc Spector is behind Kang the Conquerer for three totems of Khonshu.
    • The appearance of John Majors (who played Kang in the first season) in Wasp: Quantumania and Ant-Man as Kang as a part of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).
    • Last but not least, Ayla Ruby revealed on her podcast, Cosmic Circle, that Alex Perez disclosed to her about the Kang variant having a pivotal sequence in the second season.
    • There’s definitely more that can be explored from the comic book as in the first season we didn’t really get an acceptable backstory of the Moon Knight and had to make do with just a few passing glances.

Some Interesting Facts about the Moon Knight

    • Owing to his Dissociative Identity Disorder, he is his most dreaded enemy! He switches from one personality to another in an instant and is in a constant battle with himself. His issue stems from the fact that his uncle was a serial killer and being part of the army just added to it.
    • If you’ve wondered whether the Egyptian God Khonshu is his friend or an enemy, then we’d like to tell you that you’re not alone. We know that Moon Knight received those immense powers from Khonshu but it is also very evident that Khonshu played with his sanity to use him for his own good and awaken the Moon Knight persona.
    • It’s a no-brainer that Moon Knight is a loner and likes to fly solo than joining teams. But he becomes a part of the Avengers team anyway because he helped them from time to time and in 1987 he was instructed to join the West Coast Avengers, by Khonshu.
    • Moon Knight’s strengths weaken during the day as he gets his strength from the moon. It is a prime reason why he battles only at night. His lunar-based abilities changed with the course of the moon, which means he is his strongest self on the full moon nights and weaker on the new moon nights.
    • Carrying on with his relationship with the moon, he brands the criminals with a crescent moon-shaped mark and didn’t shy away from doing that again and again if they repeated their ill-deeds.
    • Moon Knight is addicted to painkillers and faces difficulty in trying to quit. His addiction began harmlessly when he had no choice but to use them to end his suffering after his knee injury during those high-intensity battles.
    • In his battles against his enemies while trying to stop them from causing further troubles we witness the gruesomeness of his violence.
    • It is evident in the show and in comics that Moon Knight is romantically interested in Marlene. That’s the good part but the fact that they have a daughter together named Diatrice, and he isn’t sure if she is his daughter or not adds to his mental suffering increasingly.
    • It is known how much his uncle affected him to add to his troubles his brother, Randall Spector, is also a serial killer of nurses. Randall gets his powers from Nephthys, an Egyptian God, and his antagonistic persona is named Shadow Knight.
    • Khonshu gave Moon Knight all his powers. While this statement is true it’s not entirely true. Yes, Khonshu is the reason Moon Knight has those immense powers but his superb combat skills are a result of his time in the Army, where he honed his skills.
    • Have you noticed that Moon Knight wears an all-white attire? Well, it’s not a style statement, he does it so his enemies can see him coming. This puts light on his bravery and confidence.
    • Moon Knight is famously touted as Marvel’s Batman while many agree with this claim there are some who don’t. It’s true that Batman and Moon Knight share some similarities, both have secret identities that come out in action only at night, emotional baggage, and going beyond the realms of law are other common points, but that’s about it.
    • If we talk about the differences between Batman and Moon Knight, the paramount difference is that Batman works with a moral code of conduct while Moon Knight doesn’t have that moral compass guiding his actions and is trusted by none, neither his friends nor his foes.
